Unified Work Management + Standards Tab as prioritized work queue
RFC-024 and RFC-014 land the same week. Unified Work Management brings pipeline / bottleneck / assignment views across every service; the Standards Tab is rewritten as a prioritized work queue driven by framework deadlines, gap analysis, evidence freshness, and dependencies. Compliance becomes an operating queue, not a spreadsheet.
Two related pieces of work landed the same week that change how customers actually operate the platform: the Unified Work Management substrate (RFC-024) and the Standards Tab rewritten as a prioritized work queue (RFC-014). The platform stops treating compliance work as a list of policies to write and treats it as a pipeline of assignable, trackable, prioritized work items.
Unified Work Management
- Pipeline / bottleneck / assignment views.The work-management panel shows the state of every open compliance task across the platform — assigned, in progress, blocked, complete — with visualizations that highlight where the pipeline is jammed and who’s carrying the load.
- Assign / start / complete actions on every item. What used to be status columns in a spreadsheet is now a first-class button on every work item. Assignments emit events the rest of the platform reads — a task assigned in Work Management shows up in the owner’s notifications, on their dashboard, and in reporting rollups.
- Cross-service orchestration.Work items originate from every service — compliance findings, scanner results, vendor questionnaires, policy renewals, audit prep tasks. Work Management is the unified plane where every source lands and gets routed.
Standards Tab as prioritized work queue
The Standards tab used to show a customer a static list of the frameworks they were pursuing and the controls within each one. It was accurate and useless — a spreadsheet with a nicer stylesheet. The rewrite turns it into a prioritized work queue: controls appear in the order the platform recommends the customer work on them, based on framework deadlines, current gap analysis, evidence freshness, and dependencies between controls. Every row is an actionable work item that flows through Unified Work Management, not a passive status indicator.
The two together are what turns compliance from “a list of things you probably should do” into an operating queue the founder or fractional-CISO can actually run. Every downstream product improvement that talks about “findings routed to owners,” “evidence assigned and tracked,” or “work item ownership” inherits from this week.
